First stop, Berlin, Germany. We stayed at the Soho House and quite enjoyed it. It's a massive complex with retail, two restaurants plus the Soho House Club. The pretentious vibe persists, but the rooms were spacious and not expensive. We got one of the one bedroom apartments that had a fully outfitted kitchen, washer & dryer and plenty of space. I would recommend the Soho House Berlin and would stay there again.

Next stop was Zermatt, Switzerland. Zermatt is one of the oldest and most developed ski areas in Switzerland, and has many great hotel options. We chose the Mont Cervin Palace because we wanted to stay in one of the old grand hotels, and wanted to be in the heart of Zermatt. I've stayed in some of the Grand Old Hotels of Europe, and found them to be most notable for being old. However, the Mont Cervin was recently renovated top-to-bottom and had a very comfortable modern yet classic vibe. The room was terrific with an expansive balcony featuring great views of the Matterhorn. The food was great, and the service was top-notch. The ski lift was a 5 minute taxi ride, or 15 minute walk, from the hotel. I would recommend the Mont Cervin Palace and would stay there again.

Next stop was Andermatt, Switzerland. Andermatt is on the move as an up-and-coming ski destination in central Switzerland. The town is much smaller and has fewer bars and restaurants than Zermatt, but those there are of high quality. Central to Andermatt is the Chedi Andermatt, a massive and modern hotel and residence project by the Chedi Group. The hotel is gorgeous, and the restaurants are among the highest rated in the area. The hotel is pricy and can feel a bit intimidating, but once you settle in its quite comfortable and enjoyable (the ski lift is across the street). I would recommend the Chedi Andermatt and would stay there again.

Our final stop was Bürgenstock, a resort and spa destination perched high on a cliff above Lake Lucerne. The Qatari Sovereign Investment fund dropped about $500M into renovating the entire hotel and spa, and the Bürgenstock Hotel (central to the Bürgenstock Resort) is entirely new. The entire resort is amazing, with drop-dead views over the lake. The spa is among the largest and most extensively outfitted in the world. It's truly amazing and a great spot to unwind after a long or short trip. I would definitely recommend the Bürgenstock Hotel and would gladly stay there again.
