After the past two days' more somber 9/11 photos
, here's something a little lighter. Last summer the High Line park opened on New York's west side. Once an abandoned elevated railway, the tracks have been removed and the platforms re-imagined as a 30-block, elevated green space winding along from the Meat Packing District to Chelsea. If you haven't yet seen the High Line, its an amazing piece of urban renewal, a terrific second act for this legacy piece of infrastructure.
This shot was taken at one of my favorite spots overlooking 15th street. The view is nice, but even better there's a Blue Bottle Coffee Cart right behind where I took this photo. Run, don't walk, to Blue Bottle and order the New Orleans Iced Coffee. You'll be glad you did.
