In 2008 we were en route to southern Spain via Barcelona. This was my second trip to Barcelona, the first being 19 years prior in 1989 during a weekend excursion while attending the University of Madrid. While there in 1989, we visited the construction site of Gaudi's epic Sagrada Familia. At that time, the church had been under construction for 107 years. In 2008, it was still chugging along but seemed to have been kicked into high gear, as the entire site was a hive of activity. Its anyone's guess when it will be completed, but its a worthwhile visit today.
