For Valentine's Day, I received a gift certificate to a well-renowned photography school here in New York City. They had many interesting classes to choose from, but I enrolled in a 7-week course on studio lighting and portraiture. I take lots of pictures of buildings, landmarks and landscapes, but not many of people and seldom indoors.
We had our first class last night. We learned to use the light metering and studio strobes in concert with the camera's manual mode. The instruction was very interesting, although our test subject was not: eggs. My first studio portraits of...eggs are included below.
Given what I learned with this subject specifically, I'm available for photographing brunches, baking sessions and poultry farms.
