Big Birthday Night Out in NYC

Birthdays, Food: New York, Friends, Hipstamatic

Last night was our big 4-0 birthday celebration. It was a small, intimate group but a lot of fun. We started with drinks at SoHo House, thanks to Brent for organizing as he's a member but none of us are. There aren't any photos from there as photos aren't permitted due to their celebrity clientele (like Brent). I got a new pocket camera which I'm still figuring out, so these pictures aren't the best, but you get the idea.

From we went to Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn.  If you don't know anything about Peter Luger, its the top-rated steakhouse in New York City since...well, since Zagat began rating steakhouses.  It is a New York institution, and if you're a steak lover, this needs to be on your list of "must do" experiences.

Roger Wei: Ladies' Man

Dinner was at 9:45; we started with grilled slab bacon and shrimp cocktail, followed by Steak for 8 (4 medium rare Porterhouse steaks), hashbrowns, creamed spinach and lots of their house steak sauce.

Steak for 8!

Many more thanks to Jessica for planning the evening and keeping the surprise, and not to mention picking up the tab.  We have leftovers to last the weekend and I look forward to rounding out Birthday Week with even more beef.

I also wanted to thank all the well-wishes that came in via text, email, Twitter, Facebook and even on here.  I'm still trying to get back to everyone, but here's a broadcast THANK YOU while you enjoy these pictures of Peter Luger steak.

Adding a few of Roger's hipster camera photos:
